EDITORIAL ARCHIVE - today features images shot by my late friend Corinne Day for Penthouse Magazine.
One day in 1997 I was around at Corinne’s flat and she said to me, “I’ve been asked to shoot for Penthouse what do you think?”
I asked her how it came about, and she said that she’d met the editor at a Vivienne Westwood party the night before who put it to her that they wanted to make the magazine more fashion based and thought it would be a good idea for her to shoot for them. Corinne had never thought of working for them but being someone who loved new experiences she decided to jump at the chance.
And so we packed our bags a few weeks later and headed off to a cottage in Wales in a people carrier with supermodel Rosemary Ferguson, stylist Tara St Hill and Corinne’s friend from the band Pusherman, Andy, who offered to drive us there and back.
We had a great time in the beautiful countryside of Wales as it was so quiet and peaceful where Corinne wanted to create nude and topless images of Rosemary that were tasteful and not overtly sexy, that is normally synonymous with Penthouse magazine.
These are some of my favourite pictures of Rosemary taken by Corinne and we were so excited when they were published but unfortunately we only shot one more shoot for Penthouse before it returned back to its original format due to a drop in sales.
One of these images appears as an outtake in the new Corinne Day book ‘May The Circle Remain Unbroken’ but here’s the gorgeous shoot in its entirety.
I forgot to mention, we had a car crash on the way back from the shoot, but we all survived with just a little bit of shock!
